Dear Bill and Colin,

I hope you are both doing well! I'm writing just to update you on everything, as I arrived in Oxford last week. So far everything has been busy, but good! The city is much larger than I had imagined, so I still have much left to explore. I am currently living in Lincoln College accommodations, and the college is located very close to the city center. It's well known for its beautiful library and medieval dining hall.

On Monday, I had a hectic but fruitful day. This was my first day of orientation for my course, so I woke up bright and early to bike 3km to my department. It was certainly a workout as it turned out to be quite the uphill climb. However, everyone I've been meeting has been so lovely and I've started to get close with a group of students in both my course and college. Truly, I have felt so impressed and inspired by every student I've met!

I've attached below a couple of pictures. One of them is a picture of all the students I will be studying with this next year (we represent 16 different countries!), the ceiling of my college library, and the classic Radcliffe camera.

Thank you both for all your support in helping me get here! It truly has been a dream come true, and I will definitely keep you both posted as I continue with my journey. On the side, I'm also currently interviewing (virtually) for medical schools. I have been fortunate to receive quite a few interview invitations from schools including Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, UPenn, UChicago, Northwestern, UT Southwestern, etc.

Please feel free to contact me at any time and I hope you both have a wonderful week!

Warmest,
Karen
