Our speaker this Friday is Ms. Tish Eubanks who will be speaking about the upcoming Fill-The-Bus Campaign on August 1st at the Pasadena Convention Center. More information about this wonderful event will be posted here and on our FB page.

 

Tish Gale Eubanks graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, and began her teaching career in 1979 teaching at two private schools, Saint Dominic‘s in Mobile and then St. Pius in Pasadena. She taught religion art and social studies. In 1981, Mrs. Eubanks was hired at Park View intermediate in Pasadena ISD where for the Next 22 years she taught art, Texas history, and media production before serving as a peer facilitator and the testing coordinator. As the Student Activities Director at Park View, she organized school dances, mock elections, and award ceremonies in addition to her teaching responsibilities.

 

In 2003, Mrs. Eubanks opened the new premier PISD high school, Pasadena Memorial, as a world geography teacher and social studies department chair, ultimately serving as assistant principal. She was part of the leadership team that defined and built the Maverick spirit that continues today. Mrs. Eubanks' awards and honors are vast and span her teaching career. She enjoys lifetime PTA membership, was named Rotary Club teacher of the year, and Rotary Club South Teacher of the year is a Park View Hall of Fame recipient, and served as the chairperson for the Texas Council for social studies for two years.

 

The Texas Statehood Walk in celebration of Texas statehood was organized by Mrs. Eubanks as well. The esteemed Yellow Rose of Texas Award was bestowed upon Mrs. Eubanks by then governor of Texas, George Bush. Mrs. Eubanks holds two master's degrees from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction and a master's in educational management. For 38 years Mrs. Eubanks has served and led students. Mrs. Eubanks enjoys spending time with her pets, children (Drew and Lauren), and her grandson Sam. She is widowed and currently working as the Educational Liaison for the City of Pasadena under Mayor Jeff Wagner.
